The wiring systemis so arranged that either one or both sub-stations can supplycurrent over either route, thus enabling linemen to cut outeither station or either high-tension line while the system isin operation for the purpose of making line repairs, and withoutinterfering with traffic. In case of washouts or other localobstructions on one line, the reliability of service between ter-minals is assured by the other route.
