These include sim-ple carpentry, glaz-ing, white-washing,painting and papering. The ob-ject of this course is to make itpossible for girls to do ordinaryrepairing; to keep their homesclean and attractive, and to de-velop what a New Englanderwould define as gumption. Hampton feels thatthe importance of agriculture for girls as well as for boys cannot betoo strongly emphasized. A large part of the care of the dairy,the breeding of poultry, the raising of vegetables and small fruits,and the making of gardens should be the work of women. NORMAL COURSE TWO YEARS The Normal Department offers the following two years courseof study to all persons who wish to fit themselves for more effect-ive educational work.
