THE LAST POST CEREMONY AT THE MENIN GATE, YPRES. - The Last Post has been sounded at the Menin Gate Ypres, ever since the Memorial was erected, until the Germans invaded Belgium. The Belgiums then stopped the nightly ceremony on 10th May, 1940. Ypres was liberated on the 6th Sept, 1944. and the Ceremony was restarted on the 7th Sept, 1944.
