A 1901 portrait of US President William McKinley, when he was 58 yrs old. McKinley was the 25th president of the USA, and the third of four to be assassinated. He was shot by Leon Czolgosz on 6th September 1901. Like James Garfield, McKinley briefly recovered from the wounds, to die of sepsis some time later. In this engraving he is seen as a presidential candidate.
