Hintersteiner See, also called Lake Hintersteinersee, near Scheffau n the Austrian Tyrol. The hills in the background are the Wilder Kaiser mountains. The lake is famed for its blue-green crystal clear waters, which are drinkable, and teeming with fish, including carp. Viewed from the Northern shore, looking Eastwards with the Wilder Kaiser mountains rising above the tree line, still with patches of snow even in Summer. The Eagle Walk has a section running from Kufstein, around the Wilder Kaiser mountains and on to Hintersteiner See.
