1st Lt. John Everette, a communications officer with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, and 2nd Lt. Adan Rivera, an infantry officer with 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, shovel new mulch into a wheelbarrow with students during a community service project at Marblehead Elementary School in San Clemente, Calif., May 8, 2017. Marines worked with the community in an effort to give back to the people of the San Clemente area. The project consisted of aiding in the construction of new garden boxes and cleaning up the school’s garden area.
