Hop pickers or workers with hops packed in a sack or 'poke', possibly standing outside the hop kiln - This photo depicts workers on the Kingston Bagpuize estate, near Abingdon, Oxfordshire (at this time it was in the county of Berkshire). The hop garden, was owned by the Berkshire Hop Company who bought the gardens in 1936 from the former owner of the Estate, Edward Strauss. The 'poke' has the white horse logo and states at the top 'successors of Strauss.
