A boat-shaped hearse bearing the mummy of Ani is conveyed on a sledge drawn by oxen, followed by Ani's most important and personal mourners. Ahead, the Sem priest, wearing a leopard skin, has turned towards the mummy and is offering incense and pouring a libation. At the coffin's head and foot are statuettes of Isis and Nephthys whilst alongside it kneels the grieving widow with tears from her kohl-rimmed eyes tracking down her cheek.
