The next month, or August, 1901,1 personally organizeda surveying party, consisting of Mr. Furley, level-man; a rod-man, twochain-men, an ax-man, a cook, and myself as transit-man. We pro-ceeded to Leevining Creek Canon by rail to Chinese Camp, and then byteam ovet the Tioga road to the head of Leevining Creek, where workwas commenced.
