RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE FIKE DEPAKTMENT. SECTIOj^FIRST board of engineers. Article 1. The Engineers, before the first day of May,shall meet and organize themselves into a Board of Engi-neers, of whom the Chief shall be Chairman. They shall atthe same time choose one of their number as Clerk ; alsodetermine the rank of each Assistant Engineer. Art. 2. They shall hold such meetings as may benecessary for the prompt transaction of all business thatmay come before them, and make such rules and orders fortheir government as a Board of Engineers, as they maythink proper, subject to the approval of the Mayor andAldermen. Art. 3. It shall be the duty of the Engineers, when-ever a fire shall break out in the city, to repair immediatelyto the place of such fire, wearing a suitable badge, and totake proper measures that the several engines and otherapparatus be arranged and duly worked for the speedy andeffectua
