This artwork was published in a paper by British art historian William Young Ottley (1771-1836) on manuscripts relating to versions of the famous Aratea poem on the constellations, translated by Cicero. Part of the poem is at bottom. Within the figure is later annotation (scholia). Published in Volume 26 (1835-6) of 'Archaeologia', the journal of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
