Y., 1882-83; and has been Pro-fessor of Mechanical Engineering at theState Agricultural and Mechanical Collegeof Texas, College Station, Tex., since 1883. He superintended the installation of thesteam plant of the college, consisting ofwaterworks, laundry, ice-factory, and elec-tric-lighting plant, and after putting these inoperation continued to act as superintendentof the entire plant. On two occasions dur-ing his connection with this institution hehas held the office of president pro tern. Heis a member of the American Society ofMechanical Engineers. Mr. Whitlock is the son of Elisha S. andSarah J. Whitlock. He married Effie Cable,December 25, 1894, and they have two chil-dren, Marjorie and Roger
