The available cold storage space is approximately1,650,000 cubic feet after deducting the space taken up bythe construction, railroad tracks, vestibules and the topstory. RECENT COLD STORAGE CONSTRUCTION 147 The cost of building equipment was $425, Thetime required for the construction was 14 months. Theinsurance rate on the building is 21 cents in the south sec-tion; 22 cents in the central section and 23 cents in thenorth section. The rate for insurance on contents in thecorresponding sections is 17, 18 and 19 cents. The refrigerating machinery in this plant includes themost modern equipment in use for cold storage buildings.
