A standing stone at Wangtown Chamber, an ancient stone chamber located off Wangtown Road in Kent, Putnam County, New York, USA.
The Wangtown Chamber, one of the more well-known of the many stone chambers located in various wooded areas in the Hudson Valley, New York. It is uncertain exactly when they were built and by whom, but the stone chambers are believed to be over 1,000 years ago and possibly built by Druids or other northern Europeans. Some believe the chambers function as portals for ghosts and extraterresial beings. Pictured here is a standing stone positioned in alignment with the winter solstice sun and the entrance to the chamber.
