Cowes, Isle of Wight. 8th Aug 2019. The King's Cup Cowes- The King's Cup, a trophy first presented by King George V at Cowes' Royal Yacht Squadron in 1920, was awarded to Bear Grylls' winning team. Each boat had a celebrity ambassador and captain onboard, with others taking part including historian Dan Snow, England Women's footballer Fara Williams, comedian John Bishop, Olympic rower Helen Glover and CBBC presenter Katie Thistleton. Their Royal Highnesses hope that The King’s Cup will become an annual event, bringing greater awareness to the wider benefits of sport, whist also raising support and funds for the causes that The Duke and Duchess support.
