Monument to the Galleons of Anchors of Rande, Monte do Castro Park, Vigo, Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain. It was erected to commemorate the Galleons of Rande, which were the ships that transported goods, such as wine and food, from the small port of Rande to the rest of Spain, specifically to Madrid and the Peninsula, during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The monument is a large iron sculpture, designed by Spanish sculptor Agustí Querol Subirats, in collaboration with the architect José María Ocaña. The sculpture consists of two large anchors with an iron ribbon tied between them. It was unveiled in 2008 by Spanish writer and journalist Juan Luis Cebrián and commemorates the 450th anniversary of the Galleons of Rande.
