DH-4 aeroplane radio. This view of the aeroplane cockpit shows the installation of a radio set on a DH-4 (De Havilland 4) model. The DH-4 was a variant of the , and was a two-seat bomber biplane built in the USA from 1918 for use by the USA in World War I. By the end of the 1920s, it had been replaced by other planes. This photograph, by the US Army Service, is from a collection of unpublished images, dating from the 1860s to the 1920s, taken for 'The Pageant of America: A Pictorial History of the United States' (1925-1929).
