This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Terby Crater, Mars Express perspective view. This area shows part of Terby Crater. Terby Crater is located at the northern edge of the Hellas Planitia impact basin in the southern hemisphere of Mars. The relatively old crater was filled with sediments in the past, which formed valleys on erosion. The valleys exhibit gullies, or channels cut in the ground by running liquid, mainly in the northern part of the image. These gullies and the rock-bedding structure indicate that the region has been affected by water. Data obtained by the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on Mars Express, on 13 April 2007 during orbit 4199. The European Space Agency's Mars Express has been orbiting Mars since December 2003.
