He was presentat the battle of the Alma where hewas highly commended for his gal-lant conduct, battle of Balaklava,the repulse of a sortie the day after,and battle of Inkerman, where hereceived a gunshot wound of thehand, and succeeded to the commandof the Battalion at an early part ofthe day.
