He died at homesince the war. Thomas T. Eason was junior second lieutenant at the organizationof Company K, Forty-fourth Georgia Regiment, in 1862. He wasappointed first lieutenant May 26, 1863, and captain October 14,1863, and was placed on the retired list February 17, 1864. Cap-tain Eason made a good soldier, and was a brave and deservingofflcer. John F. McClellan was mustered into the service as second ser-■geant of Company K, Forty-fourth Georgia Regiment, on March17, 1862; captured at Spottsylvania, Va., and exchanged soon was promoted junior second lieutenant September 19, 1864, onaccount of his good conduct as a soldier.
