An old coloured portrait of Lady Jane Grey (Queen Jane) 1537 – 12 1554, Queen of England and Ireland, also known after marriage as Lady Jane Dudley & the Nine Day Queen, at the signing of her death warrant, She was considered a threat to the British Crown because of her father's opposition to Wyatt's rebellion against Queen Mary's intended marriage to Philip II of Spain. Jane and her husband Lord Guilford Dudley were executed after only 9 days as Queen on 12 February 1554 on what is believed by many to have been a purely political 'jumped up' charge. No headstone was placed on their graves.
