The ecumenical patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople is making a six day visit to the Metropolis of Sidirokastron for the inauguration of the new Catholic holy monastery of St. John the Baptist in Akritochori, Serres, Greece. It is built in the architectural standards of Byzantine monasteries, the construction of which was attended by monks of the monastery of Mount Athos, Xenophon.
