The building displaying the sculpture is a 16th century former palace, the Michna Palace, converted by architect Frantisek Krásný to house the gym and social facilities in 1926 - 1927. During the 1948 - 1989 Communist era, this same building served as the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport for Charles University.
