This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Nili Fossae, Mars Express image. Nili Fossae is a graben system on Mars. It is located north-east of the Syrtis Major volcanic province, on the north-western edge of the giant Isidis impact basin. The area shown here covers some 10,300 square kilometres. Some of the central graben depressions are up to 500 metres deep. Data obtained by the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on Mars Express, on 8 February 2008 during orbit 5270. The European Space Agency's Mars Express has been orbiting Mars since December 2003. For the same image with the elevations colour-coded with a Digital Terrain Model (DTM), see C023/2973.
