Knee physiotherapy. Physiotherapist working with a male patient as part of physiotherapy after knee surgery. The surgery took place nine months previously, and was performed to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee and repair the joint meniscus. They are performing resistance exercises, pushing against each other while trying to maintain their balance. The ACL is one of the four major ligaments that hold the knee joint together. It joins the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (shin bone) and is commonly injured while playing sport.
