Glaciers on Mars. Coloured satellite image of the surface of Mars, showing widespread deposits of glacial ice (blue) in the mid-latitudes. This map is of a region known as Deuteronilus Mensae, in the northern hemisphere and is centred at degrees north latitude and degrees east longitude. It covers an area 1050 by 775 kilometres. The yellow lines indicate ground tracks of the radar observations from multiple orbits of the spacecraft. Imaged by the Shallow Radar instrument on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
