This bird is not only yellow-breasted, but when itis seen perching, the yellow head, neck, and underparts leave upon the observer the impression of abird generally yellow, with obscure it flies, however, the rich chestnut of the lowerback and the white of the outer tail-feathers comeclearly into view. These three features make theYellowhammer easy to identify.
