A MAN whose 1915 catalogue can't be kept under eight ounces might as well let it go to the pound, so far as postage is concerned. H. F. Darrow, New York, has word from Vilmorin-Andrieux & Co., Paris, France, that they are slowly recovering from the first effects of the war and have already made some small shipments to the United States. The outlook at date of writing was that they would be able to complete all their shipments, al- though there may be some unavoidable delays under the present/iflrcumstances. The steamships sailing between Havre and New York have resumed almost their regular services. ENGLISH SEEDS SITUATION. James Carter, Dunnett & Beale, Lon- don, have written the following letter to their friends in this country: *' We have noticed more than one ref- erence in the American press to the war conditions which unhappily prevail in Europe at the present time, suggesting that seedsmen in the United States and Canada cannot look with confidence to Great Britain for their usual supply of seeds. We feel called upon to send you this communication, as one of our old correspondents, to give you the assur- ance that there is no foundation for such fears. We at home have every confidence in the British fleet being able to safeguard the high road across the Atlantic and to assure uninterrupted traffic, which will maintain with regu- larity the commercial relations between the two co
