210826-N-LN075-1047 ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 26, 2021) Boatwain’s Mate 3rd Class Tyler Brown, assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), washes down vehicles from to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in the ship’s well deck, Aug. 28. Iwo Jima is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
