The house stands about a third of a mile from the high road, theapproach to it crossing the Eden by an old bridge called Thrang is a small but substantially-built farm-house, a grove of sycamore trees over-shadowing the farm premises, with grass fields in front and on either side. I found traces of a former garden, and brought away cuttings of rosesand honeysuckle run wild, which have grown into large bushes in their newhome on the west coast of Scotland. Behind the house is a waterfall, caused. HELL GILL.
