A laser cuts rocket fins out of aircraft-grade plywood, March 13, 2019, at Build It Workspace in Los Alamitos, California, as the STARBASE Los Alamitos rocketry team prepares to build additional rockets for their Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) qualification flights. STARBASE Los Alamitos, which is located at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, is one of two DoD STARBASE campuses facilitated by the California Military Department's Youth and Community Programs Task Force. The program focuses on inspiring youth to further explore science, technology, engineering and math.
