HENDERSON, Assistant Engineer, Gas Department THE gas industrj, among others,heeded the call that sounded throughthe nation and early in the developmentof what is accepted as a new era in theshipbuilding industry oflfered itself as atrue conserver of time and a stimulatorof production. Where its service hasbeen accepted this fact is recognized, andamong the results to which our companypoints with pride is the extension of gasservice to all the shipyards that havesprung up around San Francisco Bay. The most recent installation on record,and one which involved work of an un-usual character, is at the Bethlehem ship-building plant at Alameda. This plant isin process of expansi
