But, nevertheless, wehad a very good time. A TRIP TO MAMMOTH CAVE. BY MILDRED WHITE (AGE IO). We were going to make a trip to Mammoth Cave, sowe made our bloomers, with short skirts and woolenwaists. When we went in we could feel the change of atmo-sphere, as it was warm out of the cave and so cool couple had lanterns. One old woman weighedabout three hundred pounds and she looked so funnyin her bloomers. Her husband was very small andhad but one eye. How he got his wife through thecave I could not see. The women allwore bloomers. One woman was very frightened, andwhen I next saw her she had hold of thenegro guides coat-tails, and there sheswung the rest of the journey. Someone laughed at her, but she cried, Ipaid him extra! I paid him extra! When we came to Fat Mans Misery
