Thebrassards (kote) are formed of small,oblong plates, 2|in. by lin., joined together by links, thewhole mounted on a green velvet sleeve of recent date. Theback of the hand has the knuckles simulated in the metal,and the badge, which appears on the cuirass, is set in largersize on the left hand ; that on the right is missing. InHewitts time there was a tradition that this armour had beenworn by the Moors of Granada, and that it had come from the RoyalArmoury at Segovia. Hewitt, The Tower, JAPANESE ARMOUR (II, 128).
