GRANADA, Nicaragua — A stone chapel, completed in 1922, stands near the entrance of Granada Cemetery, Nicaragua's oldest burial ground. The historic cemetery, featuring white stucco and marble above-ground tombs, served as the final resting place for Nicaragua's elite, including six presidents, from 1876 to 1922.
