A Chalcidian helmet with cheek pieces, 5th/4th century Bronze. Hemispherical skull with a horizontal forehead cutout, contoured eyebrows and a double, curved gable on the brow. The skull slightly set-off from the neck-guard with small ear cutouts in front. Slightly curved cheek pieces attached with hinges to the helmet (now unmovable). The left cheek piece with a hole for the chin strap. A corroded rivet pin and an ancient repair on the crown. Height cm, weight 795 g. Red-brown to green patina.
