An Improved Haycocking Machine By J. H. RODGERS TpHE machine here illustrated is-* an improved design of hay-cocker developed some years ago byAvila Savignac, of Joliette, Quebec, andpatented last year. Just recently thismachine was given a practical testbefore a representative body of agri-culture experts from the Dominion andProvincial Departments of Agricultureand also many members of the Pro-vince of Quebec Farmers Association. As is the case in all mechanicallyoperated devices the principal objectof this haycocking machine is the sav-ing of hand labor, a very importantfactor at the present time when greatdifficulty is frequently experienced ingetting sufficient help on the farm forthe efficient harvesting of the variouscrops of hay and grain. The teddingand cocking of 400 acres of hay on thefarm of Pierre Lavalee, at St. Nor-bert, Quebec, was accomplished by twoof these machines, with a boy and manand two horses to each machine. Theboy
