Former President of Poland, Aleksander Kwasniewski speaks about 30 years of Polish democracy on Freedom and Democracy days in Gdansk. Gdansk, in the 1980s became the birthplace of the Solidarity movement, which brought an end to Communism in Poland and played a huge part to end the Soviet Union. On June 04, 1989, the first free elections in the country took place since 1928, and the first since the communist era.
