(Exclusive for Alamy) In the Pre-Qin period(before 221BC), Chinese metal coins were made by bunch-casting, but later in the period from Qin to Southern and Northern dynasties (221 BC - 581AD), both bunch-casting and stacking-casting were adopted. And from Sui and tang dynasties (581-907 AD) on, sand moulds casting was used mostly. Shanghai Museum.
