The i n t ro- ducer's descrip- tion is as fol- lows: "The Cof- fee Berry while growing is a sight to be- ; It fruits from the ground up and on the limbs in every direction. The pods, of which there are from 150 to 250 on a plant, touch each other. It grows from two to three feet in heigt-t, and when planted in rows three feet apart, meet in the middle of the rows, ihus forming one mass of pods. rJ he pods contain on an average from two to three seeds, some- what resembling a Marrowfat Pea. and when dry, can be Roasted, Ground and prepared like Coffee.
