Bomb Crater in Berg. Close-up of a petroleum incendiary bomb crater in an iceberg 450 ft. long, 150 ft. high above water off Virgin Rocks, Grand Bands region, taken from a Coast Guard plane on an ice observation flight out of Argentia. The bomb crater is shown here after it ceased burning with long trails of smoke and great flames. Lines in berg are clear blue ice (or fresh water ice) which is distinctive from the opaque white ice of which berg mainly composed.
