Channel-leaf Featherbush (Aulax cancellata) seed head, sectioned to reveal seeds. The Channel-leaf Featherbush is a South African fynbos evergreen shrub of the family Proteaceae. It is has male and female flowers on separate plants. In spring and summer the female plants produce flowerheads that develop into seed cones. The silky-haired seeds are released after wildfires, and dispersed by wind.
