They fur-nished the entire power plant for the San Antonio, Texas, electric street railway, illustrated in our last monthsnumber, and are now filling an order for a 300-horse-power plant for the Belle City Street Railway, Racine,Wis. A few days ago they received an order, by wire, for a 150-horse-power single cylinder, and a 300-horse-power tandem compound (as shown in cut), both enginesto go into service in St. Paul, Minn.; while another tele-gram from Utah, brought an order for two 300-horse-power engines. Other orders being executed includeengines for local firms in Chicago, and a large one to goto Logansport, Ind. So busy are they at their extensive. Realizing the fact, that the higher boiler pressures nowcarried, and daily being increased; needed more rigidframes and heavier, larger wearing surfaces, especiallywhen called upon to meet the sudden and excessive strainsfound in electric street railway work, the builders ofthis engine have spared no metal anywhere, to provideample resistance and strength. While looking out forthese features they ha\e not sacrificed grace of outline tosecure mere weight. They have also given careful attention to the govern-ing devices necessary to secure absolute control and com-plete regulation of the engine, as well as attaining there-by, the highest degree of fuel economy. That the firm has succeeded in producing a superiorengine, is evidenced bv the class of people they sell to. works, that they are obliged to r
