A silver-mounted sabre for a magnate, Hungary 19th century. Curved, single-edged blade with fullers on both sides and a double-edged point. A double-headed Russian eagle etched at the forte. The entire surface of the hilt embossed and chiselled with ornamental decoration and is set with St. Georgs emblems, stones (emeralds, opals, garnets) and pearls. Velvet-covered wooden scabbard with silver mountings richly decorated en suite, and with two suspension rings. Fine condition.
