The most traditional Ngada village: Bena (Flores - Indonesia). Located on the flank of the Inerie volcano (7,364 ft above sea level), it shows houses with high thatched roofs lined up in two rows, the open space between them being taken up by pairs of symbol of the continuing presence of ancestors: the ngadhu (male ancestor) and the bhaga (female ancestor).
