Beach camel-rides: Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain

Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura, Canary Isles: Camels, introduced from Africa 100 kilometres to the east, were once used on the islands as pack animals on tread mills and for ploughing. They now provide beach rides along the sand and safari-excursions in the mountains. The Canaries are a group of islands lying 100 kilometres to the west of the north coast of Africa
