Galahad prepares to sail away, in what is often called the grail ship, to land near the Castle of Carteloise in Scotland.

The gentlewoman, Sir Percival's sister, offers Galahad a girdle, nobly wrought with golden thread, set full of precious stones and with a rich gold buckle - which was mostly made of her hair. Galahad then took the sword. Then Galahad sailed away, in what is often called the grail ship, to land near the Castle of Carteloise in Scotland. Arthurian legend refers to the vast body of medieval story that focuses on King Arthur of Britain and Galahad was one of Arthur's Knights of the Round Table and the one who went on the quest of the Holy Grail and found it. The illustration dates to 1919.
