There is nothing black about Black Wattle (Acacia Mearnsii) - it has creamy yellow flowers in Spring, and slightly darker foliage than Silver Wattle.


Silver Wattle (Acacia Dealbata) and Black Wattle (Acacia Mearnsii) look very similar, as both have feathery foliage, instead of true leaves. Their flowering times are the best way to tell them apart, with Black Wattle being at least a month later.
