A model 1909 double-breasted service tunic, for a First Lieutenant in the First or Second Chevauleger Regiment. Field grey cloth with carmine red piping. Field grey shoulder boards with white and blue interlaces on carmine red backing picked out in green for Uhlans. Field grey buttons, one button for a lower pocket flap is missing. Green silk lining with traces of wear and mending. A sergeant continued to wear this coat after his promotion to officer rank.
