Detail of dry land of Sau reservoir. According to the AEMET (State Meteorological Agency) 2022 has been the warmest year in Spain since records have been made (1961) and is, at the same time, the third driest: up to September, has been recorded an average rainfall of 473 litres per square meter, which is 26% less than the normal value (635 litres per square meter). The water reservoirs in Cataluña are now around 30% of water capacity and this situation is seriously affecting the environment, the biodiversity, and the economy.
